Summer Visit 2018

Thank you to those contributing

Supporting businesses

With the summer visit getting ever closer, we want to create an article to both highlight and thank the people, organisations and businesses who have offered to support our visit. Some do this for the first time, but others get involved and support us year after year.

We very much appreciate the free admittance, the discounts and each and every donation which helps us keep our costs to a minimum. Keeping our costs down means the opportunity to provide a summer visit to more children each year.

Planned visits

At this point in the planning phase, we have a day out at Center Parcs, a weekend at the Crookstone Barn, visits to Notts Sailing Club, Wheelgate Park and Southwell Fire station all agreed and planned – we have been to all of these locations before and we thank each and everyone one of you for your continued contribution towards this summer’s trip.

This year, for the first time we shall visit Nottingham University's David Ross Sports Village, where we shall be treated to a fun filled day of rock climbing and sporting activities. A big thanks for the opportunity!

If you would like to read more about the businesses which support our visit each summer, please visit our Friends of the Charity webpage, which includes links to the websites of everyone connected to us!

Supporting individuals

Of course it is not just the donations from businesses and organisations which make this all possible, there are many individuals both inside and outside of the Charity who support our work. First and foremost, our lovely team who work in the shop each and every week, they are the lifeblood of our charitable work and without the time they donate, none of this would be possible. A massive thank you also for the tireless work from our Link committee and the volunteers in Malotkavichy for the work that is put into making each trip possible. For those in the Link Committee and on the ground in Belarus, making this visit a reality starts in early spring each year.

A huge thank you to our host families who are opening up their homes to our young visitors and are volunteering to take time out of their busy lives to accommodate this visit. Finally a heartfelt thankyou to all of the individuals who contribute time to our many activities great or small, and those who are donating items of clothing and other goods for either direct use by our children, or to sell in our charity shop to finance all of our work.

If you have any items of clothing or saleable items that you wish to donate, or any other offer of support towards our work, please do get in touch!
